COST UKRAINE TEAM AMONG THE FINALISTS OF THE OPEN DATA CHALLENGE!

Public portal “Transparent Infrastructure” was selected as one of the winners of the Open Competition for open source IT open data – the Open Data Challenge.

Within the Open Data Forum 2018, 15 teams fought for the victory in the final of the competition, which took place on September 7, 2018. The professional jury, which includes open source, anti-corruption, and e-government experts, selected six best projects under the following criteria:

  • Use of open data;
  • Innovation;
  • Social and anti-corruption influence;
  • Development perspective;
  • Professional team.

At the expense of the prize fund in the amount of 500 000 hryvnias, it will be ensured the export of data from the portal “Transparent infrastructure” on data.gov.ua in the format of JSON, as well as the development of an analytical module that will allow simple and effective monitoring of infrastructure projects.

The selection of projects for the competition took place in several stages: in the first of 190 project applications from 27 cities, the jury selected 30 projects, 10 more teams were sent out during two-day intensive work with mentors and blitz presentations. All in all, 15 projects came to the end, which represented solutions in a variety of areas: from monitoring the environmental situation to the selection of tenders from the portal Prozorro and the system for collecting CO2 emissions.
